March 2007

God is so good how He is allowing us to travel more and more since my open heart surgery.  I (wanda) am still a little tender but that does not stop us from singing and ministering.  More calls and bookings have been coming in.  God is our booking agent.  The Lord puts us on peoples hearts to call.

Wow was so great last week.  Please pray for Robin Killeen she is recovering from surgery.  Thank you again for keeping us in your prayers and your support is a blessing.

Please Keep Wanda In Your Prayers!

Emmett reports the surgery went excellent and Wanda is doing great.  Praise God for a Surgeon who acknowledges himself as a tool in God's hands.

Thank you for your continued prayers for a speedy recovery!

We love all of you!

Greetings from Millbrook, Alabama!

My little sister has asked if I would send another update installment to everyone and let them know that she was released from the hospital at lunch on Wednesday of this week. She is staying at her daughter, Maria's, house in Biloxi, MS.

Emmett had the opportunity to help a friend and make some cash by painting a two-story condo in Foley, AL. As soon as he dropped Wanda off at her daughter's Wednesday afternoon, he left for Foley. He anticipates that he will be there until sometimes this weekend. So Wanda will be staying with Maria until Em comes back and then they will return to Kiln.

It gets really lonesome for Wanda during the day so she asked if any of you will be in Biloxi over the weekend or live near there, please call her on the cell phone and come visit her. If you call, she can give you directions to the house. She is craving company really bad. I guess after the bustle of a busy hospital, it is really calm going to a home where people are not continually coming and going. Her cell number is (228) 216-2093. Wanda says that she will probably be at Maria's until the first of next week.

Wanda is still experiencing a lot of pain and not resting like she should. She is ready to be completely healed yesterday! Hopefully, she will be able to e-mail all of you real soon. She tried to work some tonight on the laptop and said that the sitting up straight was causing her to hurt. She deleted some old e-mails while laying down and then stopped and called me to see if I would send you a note.

Thanks to all of you again for your prayers and support. May God shower blessings on each and every one of you.

Dear Friends:
I have delayed in sending another update concerning Wanda because I was supposed to hear from Emmett last night. I spoke with him around noon on Friday and they had just moved Wanda to a room. The staff had her up walking that morning. Don't know if they made her walk to her room or not (ha ha). At any rate, she was in a lot of pain when I called.
Emmett said that she had "gotten onto him" about telling everyone that called that she was alright. She said that she wasn't alright; she was in pain. I told Emmett that this was just the beginning. Now that they were getting her up out of the bed, she was going to be sore for several days until she could get used to moving again. He decided not to share this information with her. The doctor also has her preforming breathing exercises all during the day to prevent pneumonia and/or fluid build-up in the lungs. This is another reason for her soreness. Emmett said that she has not mentioned her leg hurting; just her chest.        Emmett continues to battle the toothache. It seems that he lost a filling and now the nerves are exposed in the shell of the tooth. As for now, he cannot do anything about it as he is at the hospital continuously. At least now they can put him a cot in the room and he will not have to sleep in the waiting room. Maybe he can get more rest.
He again shared how appreciative that he is for all your love and support of them during this time. He said that your prayers have been a source of strength for them both and they feel really blessed that so many people from all over the world have lifted them up in prayer. He knows that the Lord has heard and is answering those prayers. I share one answer with you now.
When I spoke with Emmett the other night, he shared that he had been lifting their situation up to the Lord. He said that he knew that the hospital bill was going to be out of this world and that they would just have to pay payments against it for a long time. But he prayed that the Lord would meet their immediate need as the monthly bills would continue to come due even though they were not able to "work the fields" until Wanda recovers. As Emmett prayed this prayer, the Lord was speaking to one of their friends. He is so faithful to His children. He has promised that He will never forsake nor leave us and here is the proof. I received this e-mail from one of Wanda and Emmett's friends within a hour of talking with Emmett (and in response to my last update). The friend wrote: >That confirms it! I know that most everyone on this mailing list may not >know me, but Emmett and Wanda stay with us when the minister in the New >Orleans area. I have been praying for Wanda and what I can do to possible >help. I saw in this e-mail that Emmett has a bad tooth and is sleeping in >the waiting area at the hospital. I also have a bad tooth and am unable to have >it fixed right now (because I am out of town working) and is extremely >painful but God has put it on my heart to send them 500.00 to help out with >their finances during this time because as all of you probably know, God >provides for them through their faithful ministry. I pray that each of you >could find it in your hearts to help these blessed faithful workers of the >Lord. Emmett or Wanda have blessed us and our family and if you know them, >I’m sure they have blessed you all also. They have not in any way asked me >to do this (and I hope they aren’t upset with me) But God has put it in my >heart to do this in Jesus name. I hope you all can take some time out of >your schedule to help them......  Their address is >EMMETT AND WANDA PILLAULT >PO BOX 489 >KILN MISSISSIPPI 39556 > >GOD BLESS YOU ALL! >Chris Calamia
This generous love gift will almost cover the mortgage payment for Wanda and Emmett. Chris has asked that I forward this to all of you and, if God lays it on your hearts to do so, that you will help also. I am sure that it will be at least 6 to 8 weeks before Wanda and Emmett will be able to start ministering again. Since they are full-time in the ministry now, this means that they will be out of work with no income for several months. I know that they would be very thankful for anything that you could do for them. As we all know, the bills do not stop just because we are sick or out of work.
As I have many to send this to, I will close for now. Emmett said that Wanda has her cell phone right next to her, but I would call Emmett's phone first and only call Wanda if you can't get through on Emmett's phone. I have also included the hospital address is you would like to send cards and their home address is included in Chris' e-mail message. I think I have covered all the bases this time!!!
May you all have a blessed Sabbath.

Tuesday, July 11, 2006    6:33 p.m. CST

Dear Friends:

It's Wanda and Emmett's little sister again. I was finally able to speak again with Emmett around 5:00 p.m. today to get an extensive update on Wanda's condition. Never let anyone even hint that prayer does not work -- not even jokingly!!!! Wanda has come through the surgery and seems to be progressing really well.

I spoke with Emmett on Monday around noon and they had just completed Wanda's surgery. At that time, he had not spoken to the doctor but the staff person who had let him know the surgery was completed said the doctor was well pleased.

Today, Emmett says that Wanda is doing real well. She has been in ICU since coming out of recovery at noon on Monday. The doctor wants to keep her there for two more days just to make sure that everything is going well and no complications develop. Then they anticipate moving her to a room for a couple of days more before releasing her to go home. She has been able to eat clear broth, jello and crackers today.

Emmett said that she was lucid and alert upon exiting surgery. She was writing messages to the grandchildren on a clipboard for him to relay for her. Naturally, they are giving her medication for the pain. The doctors did perform a double by-pass and they did have to take a vein from one of her legs. She tolerated the surgery well and has had no reactions to the anesthesia nor the pain medicine. Emmett said that she is not indicating that she is in a lot of discomfort.

Emmett has been sleeping in the waiting room of the ICU and has been going in to see Wanda every couple of hours during visitation times. When I spoke with him, he had a really bad toothache and had taken something for it. He was going to lie down and rest for a while and see if the pain would ease.

Until the doctors put Wanda back in a hospital room, Emmett said that the best way to contact him is on his cell phone because he never knows where he will be one minute to the next. His number is (228) 697-0525.

I am in contact with him periodically to e-mail updates to you all. If you would like to contact me directly, my e-mail address is www.klm_entp@bellsouth.net or you may call me on my cell phone (334) 590-5540 for updates. I do plan to go over to Gulfport this weekend with a pastor and his wife in this area to check on them both.

Even though Wanda is doing well, Emmett indicated that she is "not out of the woods yet." He has been overwhelmed with the messages that I have given him and all the calls from those of you who had his telephone number. I know that your love, prayers and support are what has enabled him to hold fast in his faith that God is in control of this situation.

I will let you know more updates as I hear from Emmett. Blessings to you all,

Hi All:

We are sure hoping this e-mail finds you all safe and secure. We apologize we haven't written sooner, but we've had limited access to our e-mail (until today, that is). Our computer is caput! Our house sustained a tree on the roof. Samaritan Purse came out and took the tree off! God bless Franklin Graham and his ministry! We don’t know what the damage really is at this time! We have a tarp placed until someone can see it. Then we will know. Little things we can replace; barbecue grill, picnic tables, trash cans, computer, 2 fridges, 1 freezer ruined with rotten food! But God is good we are alive!

We'd like to ask your prayers for our families.

  • Em’s Brother Roger is from Metairie
  • Em’s Daughter Kerri is in Slidell,
  • My daughter Tina and her family are from Bay St. Louis,
  • My daughter Maria and her family are from Bay St. Louis,
  • My sister Debbie and her family are from Bay St. Louis.
  • My Aunt Diana and her family are from Lakeshore. All of them are miss-placed!
  • My Dad Louis J. Garcia is alive and well in Pensacola Florida! Praise the Lord! His home in Bay St Louis, Mississippi, was flooded and there was significant structural damage – He lost his collie dog (Barq) he drowned in the storm!

The good news is that everyone in our family did evacuate and all are doing well. Em was ready to go back to work by next Monday, when we saw the news about Rita! So we dropped everything and came to Alabama! Our lives are worth more than anything in the Houses! There are still trees that need to finish being cut - they are some just hanging and broken we didn’t get to cut! We've heard from several of you who were in the Katrina path regarding your relocation, damage, etc. Thanks so much for keeping us posted. Our website is up and running and we are trying to get our web master to keep an update on it!

We are in Elmore, Alabama -at Kathy and Roger Parkers 101 Cuck Cove- hallelujah -334-285-9460- and are happy to have computers to communicate on! “Ran from Rita”.

When we were in Cameron, Louisiana unemployment came by and asked us to fill out a form and we did! At that time Em could not get in touch with his company to talk about the unemployment compensation to help us financially. Em’s Job called and notified him (today) he is not to get unemployment cause he has a job! We knew Em had a job. His company is wonderful. He loves his job! With lack of communication it is very difficult these days! We know who our supplier is - God is Jehovah Jireh! Please keep us posted on how you are doing. We love you all. Love y’all!

Em and Wanda

May HIS richest blessing be yours as together we serve and follow HIM!
